The staff at Uma Sari were excellent and we were well looked after from the moment we arrived at the airport and one of their staff were there to pick us up. They also helped organise sightseeing, taxis, etc, when we needed it. The main area in Ubud is bustling and can be quite noisy and overwhelming. Uma Sari is just a few hundred metres from the main street, but situated in a much more peaceful and relaxed area where you can relax, enjoy the tranquil surroundings, and listen to the sounds of nature. It is very close to restaurants, bars, spas, shopping (all of which are a cheap taxi ride away if you chose not to walk).
The first room we stayed in had paper thin walls. This could be incredibly annoying as we could basically hear everything from the room next door, but the residents next door seemed to be aware of this too and so everyone was quiet and considerate! We returned to Uma Sari again at the end of our trip and had a different room, which did not have this problem. The bathrooms were fine with good hot water and water pressure in the shower, but the shower head is not mounted on the wall, making for a slightly awkward and cumbersome showering exercise at times, although this was not really a big deal.

Make sure you stay in the deluxe queen room with the view of the city.

The shower was almost a disaster, water pressure cut-off was so pathetic. And, oh joy, my beautiful room felt more like a hamster cage, barely any sunlight! I expected at least a complimentary fruit basket for all my troubles but received nothing. I almost wrote a good review. Almost.

-The location is quite good. -Nice Pool. -Great views from the second floor rooms.
-The chancing of clean towels didn't run so smoothly. -The toilet didn't flush during the last night of the stay but I bet that was repaired swiftly. -Who authorised that ugly grey clothing shop building to the side of the rice fields (naturally not the hotels fault)?

missingWrote a review on 29 Octmoldy bathroomdisruptive noise
The bathroom cleanliness left much to be desired with mold present, and the constant presence of insects was bothersome. The noise from the street was disruptive, especially early in the morning when staff began cleaning. I expected a more peaceful experience but frequently found myself waking up prematurely.
